Frequently asked questions

What is ABA therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based therapy that uses positive reinforcement to teach meaningful skills — communication, social, play, self-care — and to reduce behaviors that interfere with learning and safety. Sessions are play-based and tailored to each child.
Does my child need an autism diagnosis to start?
ABA therapy usually starts after an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis. Speech and occupational therapy usually do not require one. If your child has no diagnosis yet, we can help you find an evaluation.
Where do sessions take place?
Wherever your child learns best: at home, at school or in the community. Many families combine settings.
How many hours of therapy will my child need?
It depends on your child’s needs and goals. After the assessment, your BCBA recommends a number of weekly hours, and we adjust it as your child progresses.
Who will work with my child?
ABA programs are designed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) licensed in Texas and delivered by trained Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). Speech and occupational therapy, coming soon, will be provided by licensed speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists.
What age groups do you work with?
We work with toddlers, children and teens. Starting early often makes the biggest difference, but it is never too late to build new skills.
How are parents involved?
Parents are part of the team. You will have regular parent training sessions with your BCBA to practice strategies, ask questions and review progress.
How do you measure progress?
Therapists collect data on your child’s goals during every session. Your BCBA reviews it often, updates the plan and shares progress with you in clear language.
Do you offer services in Spanish?
Yes. We have bilingual staff and can provide parent training and communication in Spanish. Hablamos español.
